One woman, one vision...

Zara Woolf, Red Velvet creator, grew up an aspiring actor. Craving a more proactive role in the film industry, she started writing and directing. She made her directing debut as assistant director on the stage show "Empty in Angel" at the White Bear, Kennington, in autumn 2019.

During her gap year Zara studied screenwriting and filmmaking at UAL and spent time devising at National Youth Theatre. She additionally qualified and worked as a personal trainer so she could fund her first bigger scale project.

After spending months writing the script for Red Velvet, and gathering 
a cohesive and talented crew, she took the short film into production in September 2020. 

Woolf plans to edit the film primarily by herself on top of undertaking a BA in Practical Filmmaking at the MetFilm school, and hopes to finish in post production by the new year.
